Calling out to all enthusiastic individuals! Here’s an opportunity to be part of the finishing touches to our masterpiece! If you are looking to participate in the inaugural Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2010 in a fun, unique and meaningful way – you are definitely at the right place!

With a range of volunteer duties such as packing/distributing of race entry packs, drinks station crew and route shepherd, etc… to choose from, feel free to take your pick in the little ways you can contribute to this event. The efforts of volunteers are never belittled as your contributions play a significant role in the outcome of the event. The job description as follows,
Route Shepherd
Proactively cheering and provide guidance to the runners and members of the public
Provide general direction of the run to the runners
Be alert of runners in distress and seek medical assistance if necessary
Equipped with general event information and route knowledge
Provide encouragement to runners
Be proactive in answering enquiries of the public and runners
Assist in keeping the area clear of any obstructions

I have already registered as the organiser so all you have to do is to follow these steps should you be interested, it's kinda complicated but yeah it's for the cip hours and twenty bucks and a free shirt.

To register as Group Member:

1. Log on to www.sportsvolunteer.sg.

2. Sign up as a new member (if you do not have an account) located in the green box at the top right hand corner of the homepage
3. Upon login, go to Events section at homepage and click “Search”

4. Click on “Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore 2010” and sign up as a volunteer at the volunteer registration section

5. Click on “Register as Group Member”

6. Enter the group code given by your Group Coordinator (The group code is : PJC014)
7. You will see a confirmation message once you have successfully join the group

In summary, just go to the website, create an account, search for the event and register as group MEMBER and enter the group code(:

The event will be held on 5 Dec 2010 at Padang most likely. There might be a compulsory briefing beforehand.
