Pecuniary Ponderations

Eight weeks and three days ago our both newly-elected and existing executive committee members brought forth on this class a new decree, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all will dutifully settle their arrears to the common-pool resource that is our class fund.
Now we are engaged in a blithe diffusion of responsibility, testing whether that decree, or any similar notion, so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure.
We are met on a great battle for scare resources. Besides expenditure on facsimileing erudite documents and sundry, we have come to devote a portion of that resource as a means for improving the welfare of those who gave their time and services so that the class might continue to sustain the fire of learning. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. It behoves you, the beneficiaries of said services, to remunerate those whom our collective fires depend upon. Let them not suffer in a spiral of silence, for the ultimate depletion of this shared resource is clearly not in anyone's long term interest to happen.
